ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Saturday found a suspicious bag near the hospital’s car parking.
According to the police, security guards tried to stop an unidentified teenage boy carrying a suspicious bag outside the institute.
Upon seeing the guards the teenager threw the bag and ran away. The security guards seized the bag and found 202 blood platelet bags in it. The PIMS administration immediately ordered the blood bank to be sealed.

The ban on seafood imports from Pakistan by the European Union appears to be “politically motivated” as facilities and hygienic conditions at the Karachi Fish Harbour are much better as compared to the fish harbours of the neighbouring countries.
“The international community should reject the negative impression and propaganda against Pakistani seafood as it is being handled in a much safer manner as compared to some other countries exporting seafood to EU member states.”

KARACHI, Feb 23: A paper of the ongoing BA (private) annual examinations scheduled to be held on Friday (Feb24) has been postponed, a spokesperson for the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast) announced on Thursday.
However, all the papers of the exams scheduled for Saturday (Feb 25) and onwards will be held according to the original date sheet, the spokesperson added.

LAHORE: A small training airplane crashed in the lawn of a house located in Model Town area of Lahore, killing a woman pilot and trainee pilot on board, sources said.

LAHORE, Feb 22: Senior journalist Muhammad Arif died of renal failure on Wednesday. He was 75.

A clash between two student groups at the Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (Abdul Haq campus) disrupted the schedule for degree examinations on Wednesday.
According to Fuuast officials, no classes would be held on Thursday (today) on the city campus. Besides, a paper of BA (private) scheduled for Thursday has also been postponed. A new schedule for the disrupted papers would be announced soon, officials said.

A clash between two student groups at the Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (Abdul Haq campus) disrupted the schedule for degree examinations on Wednesday.
According to Fuuast officials, no classes would be held on Thursday (today) on the city campus. Besides, a paper of BA (private) scheduled for Thursday has also been postponed. A new schedule for the disrupted papers would be announced soon, officials said.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that government is pursuing the policy of raising the living standard of the masses through information technology, and information and communication technology has greatly helped in good governance in various sectors.
Daanish Technical University was being started from the 2nd of April in the provincial metropolis for the promotion of information technology, said the CM talking to Director of Microsoft Jeffrey Avina, here on Wednesday.

Go-ahead for £89m university research centre
A LEADING Scottish university has been given planning permission to build an ambitious £89 million research and technology centre.
The planning committee of Glasgow City Council has approved the project by Strathclyde University to build a new centre to create jobs and attract investment.
The Technology and Innovation Centre, set to open in 2014, will bring together academics and businesses to address issues such as economic regeneration and technological challenges.
