156 graduates receive degrees of Hamdard University

As many as 156 graduates of Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus, were awarded with degrees in its 9th Degree Awarding Ceremony 2012 held here on Tuesday.

Lahore railway station boom blast 2 killed, over 100 injured

LAHORE: At least two people were killed and over 100 were injured in a blast at Lahore railway station on Tuesday.

The blast took place on Platform 2 outside the Pak Business Express lounge after 6:30pm. The lounge was severely damaged as a result of the blast.

The bodies and all of the injured were shifted to different hospitals in the city after the blast.

Two of the dead were identified as a police constable and a porter.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, April 22: A government school was blown up by unknown miscreants in Dera town early on Sunday.

KARACHI - The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the Sindh Education Department on Wednesday to cancel the registration of a private school for causing a loss of one academic year to its students through negligence.
The school administration had failed to submit the annual examination forms of its students at the education board before the due date.

Lahore High Court seeks govt reply on laptop scheme

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court, on Thursday, sought a reply from Punjab government and others on a petition seeking directions for a judicial inquiry into the laptop scheme.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed the order on a petition filed by the petitioner-counsel Mian Shahid Abbas.
Earlier, the petitioner-counsel submitted that the Punjab government was misusing public money to promote PML-N and its political manifesto.

Pakistan Cultural Mela begins today in Lahore

LAHORE - Alhamra Arts Council in collaboration with City District Government Lahore will organise ‘Pakistan Cultural Mela 2012’ at Alhamra Cultural Complex from April 20 to 21.
