Iranian official said: No basis yet for new round of P5+1 talks

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton “didn’t say anything new this morning” in a bilateral meeting with Iran earlier Thursday, the official said on condition of anonymity.

“It seems that the base for another round of negotiations doesn’t exist yet, unless in the coming two hours the two sides reach an agreement.”

Police violence Tevta employees over protest

The employees of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) clashed with the police during their protest camp on Jail Road organized for regularization and up-gradation of their pay scales on Wednesday.

Funds for universities stressed

Stipend for schoolgirls from next fiscal year

KARACHI, May 23: Girl students of class I to V will start getting a stipend of Rs1,000 per annum from the next fiscal year.

PU teachers ended boycott of classes

LAHORE, May 23: The Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) ended on Wednesday its five-day boycott of classes after, what it says, an assurance by the Punjab government that police would be deployed on varsity campuses for three months to protect teachers from violent student groups.

Punjab Ombudsman’s orders Summer vacation salary for private institutes’ teachers

LAHORE, May 23: Punjab Ombudsman Khalid Mehmood has ordered payment of salary to teachers serving in private education institutions for the period of summer vacation and salary above the minimum level of wages fixed by the government for labourers.

Reopening of Nato supply Maulana Fazlur Rehman accuses US of blackmailing Pakistan

PESHAWAR, May 23: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said the US used Chicago conference to blackmail Pakistan into opening the Nato supply routes.
