IIT Rankings and Seat Matrix : NIRF Ranking Of IITs

 The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the most prestigious and top engineering institutes in the country. The first IIT was set up in Kharagpur in 1951, soon followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi. As of 2020, there are 23 IITs in India and the total number of seats for UG Programmes in these 23 IITs are 11279. In this article, you will get to know about the IIT rankings which will be helpful in choosing the best IITs in the country.

 Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the seat matrix of IIT in conjunction with the 23 Indian Institute of Technology. Candidates will be able to access the IIT seat matrix in online mode once the counselling session commences. The institute, course and category wise number of available seats for admission will be available through the seat matrix of IIT. Using the seat matrix, the candidates will be able to know the exact number of seats for the course and institute that they will be applying for. For admissions into IITs, it is essential for the candidates to qualify JEE Advanced.  

This year, only 17 of 23 IITs participated in the NIRF ranking. The IIT rankings 2020 is tabulated below:
